HOLYROOD STREET

EXTENSION & RENOVATION

This heritage-listed home has been thoughtfully reimagined to honour its original character while creating a home that feels open, connected, and easy to live in.

At its centre, a former living area, bedroom, and storeroom have been transformed into a private parents’ retreat, complete with a walk-in robe and study, and paired with a separate family bathroom. Both spaces share a warm, tactile palette of custom walnut cabinetry, textured tiles, and Velux roof lights that fill the rooms with soft natural light.

The original kitchen and dining room were opened up to form a generous, light-filled living, dining, and kitchen space, with high ceilings and clerestory windows drawing in natural light and fresh air. Large openings connect this space effortlessly to the covered alfresco, creating a natural extension of the home into the garden. Designed with a love of cooking in mind, the kitchen features premium Gaggenau appliances, a wine fridge, and a cleverly concealed European laundry within streamlined joinery.

The result is a calm and cohesive home where polished concrete floors and rich walnut finishes create warmth and balance. The kitchen, dining, and living areas flow seamlessly together, supporting both everyday living and relaxed entertaining.
